TAWAU: Kindergartens under the Community Development Department (Kemas) need to have their own building and not depend on village halls, said Assistant Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, Datuk Hamisa Samat. She urged the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development and the State Community Development Department to ensure they are provided with their own building so that the children would have a more organised and effective education system.

She said that almost all Kemas kindergartens statewide are using village halls as classrooms.

Hamisa said this as the Kg Tanjong Batu Keramat Kemas Kindergarten Mini Convocation Ceremony at the Tawau Library on Thursday.

Hamisa, who is Tanjong Batu assemblywoman, said the government always ensures that all Malaysians are given the privilege to a complete education system.

"I believe Kemas is constantly trying to provide the best services to these children under its management, however a proper building is what they lack at the moment."
