Excellence awards can inspire students: YB

SANDAKAN: Sekong Assemblyman Datuk Samsudin Yahya said student excellence should be duly appreciated, pointing out that those who win awards would be an inspiration to other students to strive harder.He said in order to produce excellent students, many agendas have been planned by principals and teachers to achieve the direction outlined by the Education Blueprint.

"I believe the success obtained by students is the symbol of the success of the school," he said at the SK Gas Excellence Award Day here.

Samsudin, who is also Batu Sapi Umno Division Chief, said a close relationship between the school and parents can bring to fruition the goal of the school to be an institution of excellence and to develop human capital.

Towards this end, he said there are no shortcuts to achieving progress but hard work. Meanwhile, Samsudin also officiated at the Kg Gas Tengah Wanita Umno 1 Community ceremony hall along with the MP for Batu Sapi, Datin Linda Tsen.
