THE International Forum on 'A HyperConnected World:Challenges in Nation Building' delegates praised Umno for it's effort in organising the informative and interactive event. They were also proud to attend the event and intended to share the knowledge which they gathered with the people in their respective countries.

A delegate from Kazakhsthan, Erlan Madiyer said the forum provided a platform for participants to share knowledge and experiences in handling the rapid growth of the Internet and social media.

"The discussions here will help us to clarify challenges and build consensus on how to best address them.

"The forum today is like a small United Nations assembly where so many nations gathered in one interactive dialogue which gave an opportunity to all participants to share differents ideas and perspectives," he said.

The forum, which was also attended by 127 representatives from 34 political parties in 22 countries, provided opportunities for them to learn from each other's valuable experiences in managing challenges in their respective countries.

It was held in conjunction with the Umno General Assembly 2014 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).

Cambodian People Party member Eng Huy Leng believed the forum could be a milestone for each country to collaborate with one another to avoid future problems.

"It is a very good forum. A very good effort which gives us the opportunity to cooperate and gain knowledge. Umno is coordinating the forum for all delegates to share ideas and expertise," he said.

Meanwhile, the participant from the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sevinj Fataliyeva believed that the forum would be beneficial to all countries involved after hearing the inspirational speech from Prime Minister and Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Sevinj said, every country had its own way to create awareness about tolerance in the various communities and she expected that after the forum, people would be more considerate and respectful of each other's beliefs.

"As one of the panelist today, I will speak on realising the voices of people and how the government of Azerbaijan cooperates with the non-government organisations (NGO) that represent the voices of the people in making the national policy," she said.

A panelist from Turkey, Kenan Capik expected that the forum would generate solutions to gobal problems in developing and sustaining the nations in a hyperconnected world.

"I will also represent my country in sharing about the religious approach used in Turkey to handle political issues. We believe the approach gives justice to the people and contributes to the development of the country.

Kenya's Wiper Democratic People Party member Kimoli Fedrick Kiema said the forum would help developing countries to recognize the potentials of the Internet and information and communication technology (ICT) in improving the people's wellbeing.

"I think this forum is good, especially in helping our country (Kenya) and African nations to deal with the borderless internet world, and Malaysia is a good example for Kenya to (emulate) in developing all sectors," he said.

Argentina ambassador to Malaysia, Maria Isabel Rendon described the forum as timely as the physical borders of the globe no longer exist with the advancement in technology. – Bernama
