Jakim intensifies effort to stop Muslims joining militants

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) will intensify efforts to stop Muslims from joining militant groups in the name of 'jihad.'"Our job is to inform, explain and guide them when requested by the authorities," said its Director-General, Datuk Othman Mustapha said commenting on the involvement of Malaysians in militant groups here."After Jakim explained the issue, they agreed and realised their mistakes," he told reporters after launching the 'Farmaseutikal Halal' television series.
