SHAH ALAM: The RM200,000 allocated to each opposition assemblymen under Mentri Besar Azmin Ali's 2015 budget has been rejected by the 12 Barisan Nasional elected representatives.Selangor opposition leader Datuk Shamsudin Lias said the allocation was an insult to the Barisan assemblymen.

"It is an insult to us because Pakatan Rakyat coordinators appointed in opposition constituencies will be given an allocation of RM500,000 each.

"This is unfair as we are elected representatives chosen by the people and given the mandate while the coordinators are not," Shamsudin told a press conference on the sidelines of the state assembly sitting yesterday.

He said if the state was sincere, the quantum must be the same.

Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen will be given an allocation of RM700,000 each to service their respective constituencies.

Earlier in the day when debating the budget at the assembly, Shamsudin urged Azmin to remove PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the state economic adviser.

"The position is unnecessary and redundant. It is also a waste of public funds," he said.

Shamsudin also touched on the recent mentri besar crisis, which he said had adversely affected Selangor.

"I hope Selangor is not made into a personal and political platform to get to Putrajaya," he said.
