Two S'kan eateries ordered shut, 10 compounded

SANDAKAN: Two out of 21 food premises were ordered to close for 14 days and 10 compounds were issued during an integrated operation on food premises, here, Thursday.The joint operation themed "Ops Premis Bersih" involved 44 officers and personnel from the Sandakan Health Office, Sandakan Municipal Council and the Domestic Trade, Consumerism and Co-operatives Ministry here.Leading the team was the Sandakan Health Office Environmental Health Assistant Chief, Moinson Dongin, who said the operation was aimed at ensuring cleanliness and health regulations are kept by all food premises in the district. He said it was also to protect consumers from consuming food and beverages, which are not prepared accordingly. On that note, he said they will continue to conduct such operations in the district.
