Students keen in Commerce, Hospitality and Mechanical Engineering: Director

KOTA KINABALU: Commerce, Hospitality and Mechanical Engineering are among the more popular study options pursued by students at Politikenik Kota Kinabalu (PKK).Its Director Roslee Yahya stated this during the closing of its Orientation Week for the new December intake which has seen an increase compared to an earlier intake in June.

"We will continue to promote to school leavers to continue their studies at our institution," he said, hoping when the students graduate they will not only be excellent in their academics but also in terms of employability.

Speaking of the programme, Roslee explained that it was organised to expose students to the institution, which included the facilities and safety, learning system, motivational aspects as well as the challenges students are prone to face throughout their studies.

Meanwhile, City Hall Director-General, Datuk Yeo Boon Hai when gracing the ceremony advised the students to grab their opportunity in gaining and increasing their knowledge.

"Work hard to achieve success and never give up," he said, adding that the students must prepare themselves to face challenges in the future.

A total of 1, 022 new students registered for the December intake compared to only 779 in June.
