Sabah Parks Golden Jubilee celebration

RANAU: Sabah Parks will celebrate its Golden Jubilee at the Ranau Airfield from Nov 30 to Dec 2.Sabah Parks marks 50 years since Kinabalu Park was gazetted as a national park in 1964. The official launch of the celebrations will take place on Dec 1 at 6pm and will be officiated by Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.The evening will see the 'Sunduan Do Nunuk Ragang' cultural parade and a special performance by Stacy AF (Akademi Fantasia).

In conjunction with the anniversary, an array of activities and performances will be taking place for all to enjoy at the Ranau Airfield this weekend.Children can enjoy a magic show, balloon art and be entertained with appearances by colourful clowns and popular superheroes in costume.There will also be a 'Battle of the Bands' competition and a mini concert by local artistes.Visitors are invited to visit the various handicraft sales and exhibition booths, showcasing the ethnic crafts of Sabah. The carnival runs from 10 am until late night on all three days. Entrance is free.

Also in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee is the 2014 Kinabalu World Heritage Cup football championship, with the kick-off taking place at 9am on Dec 1 at the Ranau Sports Complex.
