KINABALU: The accumulated total investment in the Sabah Development Corridor (SDC) rose to RM19.75billion in the first eight months this year, a very significant increase from just RM7.64b last year. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman disclosed this during the State Public Services Night held at the Banquet Hall in the State Legislative Assembly building, Friday. ADVERTISEMENT He attributed the success to the strong and good collaboration and understanding between the public service and government administrative members in the State. This has resulted in smooth execution of whatever planning, policy and programme that had been formulated and endorsed by the government, he said, commending State public service members for their great commitment and dedication. ADVERTISEMENT "This is vital because without it we would never successfully implement and achieve the objectives of the development policies and programmes meant for the rakyat, no matter how great and best they are…and the rakyat also will not be able to benefit and enjoy their share of the development cake," said Musa, who is also State Finance Minister.

He admitted there are weaknesses, shortcoming and leakages in certain situations, but that these can be overcome. "Have faith, that with the level of understanding and collaboration among us now, we are at the right and best track to continue accelerating the State development progress and protecting the interests of the rakyat," he said. Musa assured he would continue with his practice of holding regular discussions, meetings, as well as going down to the ground together with the State Secretary, State Federal Secretary as well as heads and officers of government departments, throughout the State. Welcoming the concept of Merakyatkan Perkhidmatan Awam Melalui Prinsip Kekitaan (public services for the people through principle of togetherness), he also stressed the need for all in public services to focus on strategic collaboration through a collaborative innovation approach which prioritises the benefits of the rakyat. Musa later also presented the Sabah Public Sector Innovation Award and Excellent Financial Management Accountability Index Award.
