Ranau village for national contest

RANAU: Villagers in Kg Kilimu Ranau have been picked as the sole representative of the State for the Anugerah Desa Sejahtera 1Malaysia (ADS1M) 2014.Weeks of preparation culminated on Monday with the arrival of the panel of evaluators to the village who were that was greeted with warmth and cheer.During the briefing by leaders of the panel of evaluators cum Chief Assistant Secretary of the Rural And Regional Ministry, Abdul Malique Abdul Razak, the villagers were told of the main key area that would be taken into account in the evaluations.

"Among the areas that will be evaluate are patriotisme and independence, economics and entrepreneurship, education and trainings, leadership and administration, spiritual and social, health, hygiene and cheerfulness, as well as information technology and communication," he said.Meanwhile, Kg Kilimu's JKKK Chairman, Ignatius Peter said the village mainly consists the farming community while the rest are government servants, housewives and school children."Now Kg Kilimu has already been developed into a vibrant village with various infrastructures, including clean water supply, electricity, a Rukun Tetangga building, a multipurpose hall, a futsal court, an SIB church, a homestay, a Kemas kindergarten and a primary school, among others," he said.The evaluation visit made by the panel of 14 evaluators began with a 300 meters walk from the village's main entrance to the village's multipurpose hall where they were joined by hundreds of villagers.
