SANDAKAN: The qualification of the workers handling the boiler is among the aspects focused on by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (Dosh) in the probe into the boiler explosion in a noodle factory in Jalan Chong Hwa, near here, Thursday. Sabah Dosh Director Mohd Zahari Hitam said the boiler contained large amount of energy while operating and it must be operated by a well-trained operator. "Dosh is still investigating the matter and has yet to ensure whether or not the workers handling the boiler are well-trained workers.

"According to the information we received so far, the three workers involved in the explosion are foreign workers, comprising a Filipino and two Indonesian nationals," he said when contacted here, Friday. The three foreign workers were killed in the explosion on Thursday. Apart from the workers' qualifications, Zahari said the investigation would also focus on the boiler at the factory.
