Concerns of Sembulan residents

KOTA KINABALU: The rempit menace and minor drug issues were among concerns raised by Kg Sembulan Lama residents during a police meet-and-greet session held at the UTC, here, Saturday. The two-hour session, which began at about 2pm, involved eight officers and 17 personnel from the Kota Kinabalu Police Department. Deputy City Police Chief Supt Mohd Azhar Hamin said they received encouraging support from Sembulan residents who took the opportunity to meet with the police. "We are aware that the area has a Resident Development and Security Committee but it is not active, thus, we will work together with the local residents to revive the Committee and combat crime issues together," he said. On another note, he reminded those leaving their houses vacant during the holiday season to inform the police of their absence so that they may patrol the area. – Sherell Ann Jeffrey
