2,000 attend Kemabong Christmas open house

KEMABONG: Some 2,000 people joined in the festivities at the Christmas open house organised by the Kemabong assemblyman Datuk Rubin Balang at Sri Ontoros Hall here on Saturday.Also in attendance were former Youth and Sports Minister, Datuk Kadoh Agundong, former Pensiangan Member of Parliament, Datuk Taimin Lumaing, leaders of Barisan Nasional component parties, non-governmental organisations and local leaders.In his speech, Rubin hoped the country being multi-racial and multi-religious will still continue to be strong and united under the concept of 1Malaysia because unity is vital in increasing the country's economy.ADVERTISEMENT Rubin also said that this Christmas season would also help enhance the existing friendships of the different cultures in the country.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Meanwhile, Taimin commented on Rubin's speech stressed the importance of unity in a diverse country like Malaysia and to ensure that unity is strong, it will need co-operation of all the people, regardless of race or religions.President of Persatuan Mamagun Sabah, Rudy S. Mairi on the other hand said it is time that Malaysians understand the importance of the existence unity and it is through celebrations like Christmas, Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Chinese New Year that further builds and strengthen the country's unity.
