Siblings drown while playing near river

Penampang: A four-year-old girl was found drowned while the search for her five-year-old brother continued Thursday after both went missing at the river estuary in Kg Contoh, Petagas, here. The siblings were identified as four-year-old Nursyafikah binti Mat and her brother Ruzaini bin Mat, who were last seen playing near the estuary located not far from their home on Wednesday evening. Their failure to return home prompted a search and rescue operation by Fire and Rescue personnel assisted by personnel from the Civil Defence Department at about 10.13pm.
