Flood evacuees in Sabah down to 614

Kuala Lumpur: The flood situation in Sabah and Sarawak has improved Sunday evening with number of evacuees continuing to drop while the in Kelantan, there has been no change. In Sabah, the number of evacuees dropped to 614 people compared to 682 people Sunday afternoon. Sarawak recorded a drop to 1,099 people from 1,587 people earlier while the number of flood victims remains at 255 in Kelantan.

In Sabah, a Beaufort flood operations room spokesman said all victims from 179 families were still at three relief centres in Beaufort (one) and Membakut (two).

"A total 603 flood victims were recorded this evening in Membakut and 11 in Beaufort," he said.

Meanwhile, in Sarawak, according to the latest statistics from the State National Security Council, the Samarahan Division still had the highest number of victims at 490 people, Limbang (460), Mukah (66) and Miri (83).
