Make Likas dengue free, says Sabah DAP

Kota Kinabalu: The local authorities and the local community in Likas have been urged to work together to make Likas a dengue free neighbourhood.Likas Assemblyman Junz Wong said he was sad that Likas was declared a dengue zone by State Health Director Dr Christina Rundi recently."I urge City Hall to step up their efforts to ensure that fogging be done in all housing areas especially those with many natural trees and water bodies.

"The drainage must be cleaned up to ensure good flow with no blockage. Stagnant water is one of the reasons why mosquitoes can breed easily," he said in a statement.Junz added that the residents also should be responsible and not litter indiscriminately.He said Likas is an area packed with schools and therefore, children will be more vulnerable to danger.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
