DBKK to adopt BIM tech for development sector

Kota Kinabalu: City Hall will adopt the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to keep abreast with latest technology in building design.Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir said the BIM method is needed in order to keep pace with the rapid development in the city."As the catalyst for the use of BIM, City Hall will hold a discussion to draft a strategy to enhance efficiency on this latest trend in the development sector, in line with the latest innovation and development," he said at a briefing on early methods of BIM, here, Friday.

The briefing was attended by 25 agencies under the Local Government and Housing Ministry, district offices throughout Sabah, Public Works Department, Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda) and others."The briefing is to expose the participants on BIM's technology…BIM is used to show the building's life span which includes the building processes and operation facilities.
