Borhan appointed new Sabah Federal Secretary

Putra Jaya: Deputy Secretary-General (Development and Finance) of the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Borhan Dolah has been appointed Sabah Federal Secretary, effective February 1.Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said Borhan's appointment was to replace Datuk Abu Bakar Hassan who will retire."I am confident that the qualification, experience, knowledge and credibility that Borhan has will enable him to lead and continue the excellent achievement of the Federal Secretary's Office in Sabah, especially in strengthening communication and collaboration between federal agencies and the State Government," he said in a statement here.ADVERTISEMENT Borhan, 55, holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Hartford, USA and a Master's degree in Anthropology and Sociology, University of Malaya.Borhan, who has been in public service for over 28 years, joined the Administrative and Diplomatic service on Jan 13, 1986.He has vast experience in public management and human capital development and had served as Deputy Secretary-General (Finance and Development) in the Prime Minister Office from Sept 25, 2012.In addition, he was appointed Director-General, Department of Youth and Sports Malaysia and was also Deputy Secretary-General (Management), Ministry of Youth and Sports.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Meanwhile, Ali also expressed his appreciation and thanks to Abu Bakar who had served for more than 35 years."On behalf of the Federal Government, I express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to Abu Bakar for his contribution and dedication to public service and the country," he said.
