Kota Kinabalu: Putatan MP Datuk Marcus Mojigoh is seriously considering quitting politics by not seeking re-nomination in the 14th General Election, claiming he is "tired of the flip-flop policies" that have caused the people to be more angry with the Barisan Nasional (BN) government."I am getting tired. I feel I have done my part and it's time for me to go back to my family. Let the new generation take over."If you want to serve the government you must be happy and if you want to serve the people you have to be happy," he said, during his annual Chinese New Year rounds together with BN Putatan component leaders at the Tanjung Aru and Sembulan shops, Tuesday.ADVERTISEMENT Mojigoh, who is also a vice president cum treasurer general of Upko, is said to be unhappy over the inconsistencies in government's policies as well as the importation of culture alien to Sabah."The forced Islamisation of students … this is not good for Sabah, maybe for peninsula yes but not Sabah. Another is the statements by our (BN) leaders that are not helping the BN at all," he said.So much so, the three-term MP said he wants to meet the Prime Minister and urge him to do something about it.He also questioned the rationale behind the confrontational approach taken by the Government in facing the group who voiced out their dissatisfaction on the 1963 Malaysia Agreement.ADVERTISEMENT "They do not want to take Sabah and Sarawak out of Malaysia, they only want (to attract) attention. Why can't the government just engage them in a talk?"Is it an offence to just have an engagement with them? If the issues that they are raising like the Batu Sumpah promises have been resolved then tell them so but don't keep quiet," he said.

Mojigoh said as a leader for the people "I am singing to the tune of the people." He also criticised the move to bar DAP national vice chairperson, Teresa Kok from entering Sabah."What is so dangerous about Teresa Kok? We are matured leaders and we can respond accordingly if they (opposition) try to raise negative issues," he said, adding the people that should be banned from coming to the State are the likes of Ibrahim Ali and leaders of Isma who were causing racial and religious disunity."BN is strong enough to defend itself. The only ones that make BN weak are certain leaders whose actions are making a mockery of us," he said.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Mojigoh, nonetheless, said he might change his mind and be ready to serve the people once again if there was a change and all these issues have been addressed."If the situation remains as it is I will decline the nomination," he said.
