Safa wants some National Futsal League matches to be held here

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Football Association Futsal Committee is making an attempt to host one of the series in the National Futsal League.Its Chairman, Yamani Hafez Musa said that by having one of the series held in Sabah, the fans would have the opportunity to watch much closer the nation's top teams in action."Futsal has a huge following in Sabah whether old or young and men or women.

"So, we are trying to get one the National Futsal League series to be held here," he said.If the effort by the futsal committee comes to fruition, he said it would certainly boost Sabah futsal to greater heights.Futsal comes second to football where sports is concerned in Sabah and there is a futsal centre in almost every district in the state.The scenario certainly augurs well for the committee's effort to host one of the series in the National Futsal League considering the huge fan and enthusiast base in Sabah.

Hafez said if this effort becomes a reality, the series would be held at the Indoor Hall of the Likas Sports Complex.He said this is because the facility could accommodate large number of spectators.

"Moreover, the facility is better known to the fans and enthusiasts," he said.Meanwhile, he said that Sabah men and women state futsal teams are all prepared to commence its campaign in the National Futsal League 2015 from Feb 27 until Mar 1 at the Mashushita Indoor Stadium in Shah Alam."The men futsal team has been training since October last year while the women team, since November," he said.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
