Teams invited for Tunas Sabah League

Kota Kinabalu: Teams are invited to take part in the Akademi Tunas Sabah League 2015 scheduled to begin from mid-March until November.The league which is under the National Football Development Program (NFDP) headed by Lim Teong Kim is initiated by the Federal Youths and Sport Ministry.

Newly appointed head of the Sabah NFDP unit, Omar Maya said Labuan, Kota Kinabalu and Keningau will host three separate leagues for age seven, eight and nine while the Under-10, 11 and 12 will only be held in Kota Kinabalu.

"The league is to be held weekly and bi-weekly and NFDP's academy in Labuan and Keningau are set to take part.

"The number of teams will be limited to only 12 per age group so teams will have to register quick," he said.

Registrations can be made by contacting Saiful Suffian (Labuan teams aged 7,8,9) at 013-8635629, Robin Peter at 019-5893051 (teams from Keningau aged 7, 8, 9), Omar Maya at 013-8982028, Mailin Surat at 013-8983893 or Fauzie Tamin at 013-8704411 (for KK teams aged 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12).

He added that a weekly television show will be aired on TV3 every Saturday starting March 14 while Planet Bola will also focus on the league as well as on all programmes by NFDP.

Meanwhile, Omar's predecessor Osmera Omoro who headed the unit since July 2010 has been promoted to take charge of the national under-13 team based in Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School in Johor.
