Murder of student: Three held

Keningau: Three people, including a woman, have been brought in to facilitate investigations on the death of a college student whose body was found inside the District Office building here last Monday. District Police Chief DSP Douglas Nyeging Taong said they were a local man and two foreigners with valid passports.He said the foreigners, a 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, were picked up on Tuesday while the 20-year-old local was brought in for questioning on Wednesday, adding that all three were detained in the district.

Twenty-year-old Sairah Fitri Tifanus from Kg Durok here had been doing her practical at the Licensing Unit at the district office since Jan 12 and was supposed to complete her training on March 6. Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Police classified the case as murder based on two stab wounds found on her body. She was buried at the Muslim Cemetery at Mile 29, Jalan Keningau-Tenom at about 1pm on Wednesday.
