Kota Kinabalu: A 30-year-old Dusun woman lodged a police report Wednesday after discovering that her father had been identified as a Bajau in his MyKad. Rina Alan, from Kg Pinopok in Membakut, lodged the report at the Membakut Police Station at about 10.34am. Based on her report, the information on her 64-year-old father's MyKad was found to be wrong when it labelled him as a Bajau and Muslim, when in fact he is Dusun and a pagan.

"They claimed that the National Registration Department in Beaufort told them to refer the matter to the State Islamic Affairs Unit (Muis), prompting them to bring the matter to the National Registration Department's Papar Branch which told them to bring their father to the office for an interview to see if what they claimed was true," he said. "All they want is for the National Registration Department to correct the error done by the department instead of pushing them around," he said.
