Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Rhinos are targeting the maximum three points in their Premier League home match against Putrajaya SPA FC here at the Likas Stadium tonight (Friday) starting at 8.15pm.Team manager cum Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri TC Goh in a brief interview on Thursday said the team are ready for the challenge.

"The team are ready even though we lost our last two away matches unexpectedly.

"We have identified the weaknesses of the team and the players must face it and take the defeats as a challenge for tomorrow's match and aim for the three points."

He called on all Rhinos fans to come early to avoid the traffic jam and at the same time to be there on time to support the team from the start.

"It is going to be a big turnout and I really appreciate the fans for their continued support in assisting the team not just those who came for the home matches but also those who attended the match in Shah Alam recently.

"I have instructed the players to give their best on the pitch tomorrow to show their appreciation and thanks to the fans for their undivided support."

Goh said he is happy with the team's overall progress so far.

"As of now, we are happy with the progress and results under the new technical director Mike Murvey working together with Justin Ganai, the head coach."

He reminded the fans that the management only took over the team at the end of October.

"We hope everybody must understand that we have been given the task to take over the team at a very short notice in late October.

"We made use of whatever resources that we had, and with that limitation of players, I would say we are happy with their performances.

"That doesn't mean we have the best players and the best team yet. That's why this coming April, we will do our restructuring to make sure better players are coming in and certain players will be repositioned.

"Hopefully with the advice of the technical director and the head coach we will have a strong team with the right person at the right position."

He also revealed that there are already negotiations with a few agents for new players within the rules and regulation of Football Association Malaysia during the transfer window in April.

"A decision will be made in the middle of this month and definitely we will sign one player from an Asian country."

Meanwhile, the return of Abdoulaye Faye in central defence is a big boost for Sabah Rhinos as they take on SPA Putrajaya tonight (Friday).

The calming presence of the former English Premier League star was sorely missed in their FA Cup 0-3 defeat to PDRM last week.

Newly appointed technical director of Sabah Football Association (Safa) Mike Murvey said he is glad to see Abdoulaye is back to his feet after suffering an injury in the match against UiTM a fortnight ago where the team lost 1-2.

"The team had been struggling defensively since his (Abdoulaye) absence and letting in some soft goals.

"And with his presence, the team are back to its original strength at the back," he said on Wednesday after the team's training session in University Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

He said the team are in high spirit despite the last two defeats.

"Although I have just arrived and am still new to the team, I can see the determination of the players and each of them are working hard in each training session.

"We needed to put extra effort to rectify our weaknesses and I believe the players will give their best in the match this Friday (today).

The line-up tonight will however, see the absence of two regulars with winger Ezaidy Khadar out injured and play-maker Safuan Adli suspended.

Youngster Rawilson Batuil and veteran Zuraindey Jumai look set to take over their place to partner Azizan Nordin and Leopold Alfonso in midfield with El Hadji Diouf and Eamon Zayed in attack.

Fazli Paat will again start in goal and the back four will consist of Faye with Hardy Parsi in the centre supported by Julamri Muhammad and Alto Linus.
