Kuala Lumpur: Postal services provider, Pos Malaysia Bhd's five-year transformation plan is bearing fruit, with a substantial increase in the company's revenue to RM1.3 billion for financial year 2013 from RM800 million in 2012.Chairman Tan Sri Mohd Khamil bin Jamil said the plan, initiated in 2013, outlined 29 business initiatives, including banking on higher profits from its profitable courier and logistics segment by leveraging on its wide Pos Laju network and extracting further synergies with DRB-Hicom Bhd's wholly-owned unit, Kuala Lumpur Airport Services.

"We are on the right track, having already achieved 50 per cent of the transformation target," he told reporters after the launch of a strategic collaboration with Amanah Raya Bhd on estate administration here Thursday.

Also present was Amanah Raya chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

On the collaboration with Amanah Raya, Mohd Khamil said 596 Pos Malaysia branches throughout peninsular Malaysia would be involved in the first phase.

He said the branches would be the platform for applicants to obtain and submit their completed estate administration application forms.

"This will help customers who do not have access to Amanah Raya's office and 19 branches nationwide," he added.

Meanwhile, Reezal Merican said the collaboration was conceived to provide convenience to customers.

"Through this collaboration, we hope to help customers take the first step, in the estate administration service," he said. – Bernama

Meanwhile, in another development, Reezal Merican commended Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on his proposal for the Auditor General to vet the account of the government's strategic investment arm, 1Malaysia Development Board (1MDB).

The report will then be passed to the bipartisan Public Accounts Committee (PAC). – Bernama
