Kota Kinabalu: The rescued three-metre male dolphin was found to have a chronic infection, rendering it unable to swim against the currents and get stranded in Likas Bay's rocky shorelines.Experts are now working hard at the Borneo Marine Research Institute (BMRI) UMS to treat the marine mammal, which could be a risso dolphin but morphologically very similar to the short finned pilot whale (only different in fin).It had been treated with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, appetite stimulant and multivitamin, said Wildlife Assistant Director Dr Sen Nathan.
