Nearly 100 golfers vying for honours

Kota Kinabalu: Top golfers from Sabah, Sarawak and Indonesia had confirmed their participation for the 27th Sabah Golf and Country Club (SGCC) Amateur Open teeing off on March 27 at SGCC.According to the Tournament Director, Peter LK Wong, the first major amateur golf tournament in Sabah had attracted nearly 100 golfers vying for the gross and net categories.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Wong, who was the tournament's past winner will expect tough battles from young golfers such as his son, Jason, Suzairi Iqmah, Park Sang Ho, and Casper Loh while previous champions Jordan Mobijohn and Albright Chong also pose dangers to win the tournament again as well as veterans like Sarawak's Lee Ka Tung, Alex Tiong, Wong Tung An, Indonesia's Korean golfer, Kim Min Seok and SGA player, Chua Poh Guan.

In the women category, University Utara Malaysia's duo of Nurul Syahirah and Hillferah Tan will be favourites to challenge for the championship ahead of local talents such as Tham Soot Yuet, Cheryl Lo and multi-championship winner, veteran Rokia Daud.
