800 villagers in Gum-Gum to enjoy clean water supply soon

Sandakan: It is estimated that more than 800 residents of Kampung Jaya Bakti in the Gum-Gum constituency would enjoy clean water when the water pipe construction project in the area is completed.Assemblyman Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris said the Government has approved the allocation to execute the project to supply clean water to Jaya Bakti, Memanjang and surrounding areas.He said in the 2013 general election, residents in Kampung Jaya Bakti had requested for the supply of clean water.

Zakaria said this during the contribution handing-over to 32 students of SK Jaya Bakti who are set to participate in a UPSR clinic programme at Universiti Malaysia Sabah.He said, as the assemblyman of Gum-Gum, he supports the Government's development plans including educational programmes for the benefit and advancement of society, particularly the young people in the area of Jaya Bakti and Memanjang.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

In the meantime, Zakaria said he would also propose to the Ministry of Local Government and Housing for one Beluran District Council member to represent the area.In another development, he also reminded the village chief and chairman of the Village Development and Security Committee to act as the eyes and ears of the Government and to continue to deliver the correct information to the people.
