Kota Kinabalu: Sabah College Rugby Team had made the State and country proud after displaying an excellent performance in the recently ended Standard Chartered Bank International Youth Rugby 7s Tournament 2015 that was held at the King's Park Sports Ground in Kowloon, Hong Kong over the weekend.They clinched the Cup's runners up position after losing once to eventual winners BC Rugby Team of Canada in a tournament that was played based on the round robin format.Sabah College also sent its Under-16 team to Hong Kong but the junior side only managed to make it into the Plate semi-finals.

However, they did win a special award for putting up a good show in their maiden debut in the competition.Head of Contingent, Puan Sri Diana Diego said the achievement by their boys proved that they can compete against top international teams.
"This was our first time competing, most of our players are 18 years old or younger but they showed good determination to compete and at the end winning matches," she said.

Sabah College Principal, Nuinda Alias, was proud of their achievement, pointing out that this has been a good international exposure for her ruggers.

She added that it has always been the school's practice to expose their students internationally; adding that their dance team will be heading to Romania in September. State Education Department Human Resources Development Sector Head Ir Datu Jamigul Salin and Head of Sports Unit Zainal Madi were among those to welcome them home.
