Kota Kinabalu: A social activist accused of using derogatory words on facebook that were deemed as threatening Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman and his family denies any wrongdoing.Jo Nandu claimed threatening Musa or his family with bodily harm, as alleged by Sabah Umno Youth, was not his intention.

He claimed that his posting was misinterpreted, mistranslated and misunderstood, probably due to the poor command of English on the part of Sabah Youth Umno leaders.

Nandu said he wished to apologise for the misunderstanding and for bad mastery of English which "caused his personal grievances to be blown up out of proportion by the Umno youth leaders."

"I wished they (Umno youth leaders) will instead show similar anger and efficiency towards the illegal immigrants who are taking over the local economy, peace and security in the State."

According to him, he was merely responding with frustration over Musa's preference for other means of getting more revenue from our oil and gas, instead of seeking a 20pc royalty, as stated in the Daily Express headline (Going For The Smart Option Than 20pc Royalty on April 14, 2015).

"While I believe in a strong, clean and proper Governance which ultimately will be decided via the General Election, I would never want to create unrest or even instigate anyone to do any bodily harm against government officials or politicians especially those with opposing political views.

"The police report made against me is incorrect since I did not threaten the Chief Minister with any bodily harm, present or future. Nor are there any words which imply that I planned and prepared for any attempt or will do any grievous bodily harm to him.

"I believe the posting I made amounts to not more that an expression of anger in a heated argument.

"I did so in line with my belief that everyone is being endowed with the right to speech and to criticise the Government.

On Wednesday, Sabah Umno youth leaders from 12 divisions lodged police reports against the social activist over his Facebook posting for supposedly threatening Musa and his family.

Sabah Umno Youth had called on the police to arrest and investigate the account holder.
