Petronas announces senior management appointments

Kuala Lumpur: Petronas has appointed Md Arif Mahmood as executive vice-president and chief executive officer (CEO) of downstream business, succeeding Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, effective Thursday. Wan Zulkiflee was appointed president & group CEO of the national oil company on April 1, 2015. In a statement, Petronas said Md Arif was previously senior vice-president, corporate strategy & risk. ADVERTISEMENT He joined Petronas in 1984 as trainee engineer and held various senior managerial positions in Petronas, including in Engen Petroleum, the Corporate Planning Unit, Petronas Gas, Petronas Dagangan, and Asean Bintulu Fertilizer. He has also served as vice-president of oil business. Meanwhile, Adif Zulkifli has been appointed as senior vice-president, corporate strategy & risk. He was previously vice-president, Malaysia Petroleum Management since March 2014. ADVERTISEMENT He joined Petronas in 1993 as reservoir engineer, and held several managerial roles including in Group Strategic Planning, and the Petroleum Economics Department as well as Strategy & New Ventures, Upstream Business. Petronas has also appointed Muhammad Zamri Jusoh as vice-president, Malaysia Petroleum Management.

Prior to the appointment, Muhammad Zamri was head of strategy & new ventures for upstream strategy & risk. He joined Petronas in 1991 as production technologist.He held various managerial roles within the upstream business, including as head of petroleum resource development, Malaysia Petroleum Management. Petronas has also appointed Zakaria Kasah, currently vice-president & CEO of Malaysia LNG as vice-president, technology & engineering, effective May 1, 2015.Dzafri Sham Ahmad, currently senior general manager of Malaysia LNG will succeed Zakaria on the same date, Petronas said. – Bernama
