Kota Kinabalu: Even though they are busy with their training, the Sabah Rhinos Premier League team captained by El Hadji Diouf spared some time to meet up with members of the Sabah Disabled Football Fan Club (KPBOS), Thursday.Diouf was happy and thanked KPBOS for their support.

"Even though they are disabled, they are high-spirited and willing to go to the stadium on every matches.

"They should be a good example for other football fans to continue the support for us," Diouf said.

During the meetup session, Sonnie Hamdin who represented the Sabah Football Fan Club (SFFC) distributed 20 free t-shirts to the members of KPBOS.

"KPBOS would like to thank SFFC for being caring towards OKU fans. We would also like to thank Safa, the management of Sabah Rhinos and Mino Ersyad Arshad," said the Chairman of KPBOS, Amoster Henry.

Meanwhile, KPBOS urged the needs for the disabled (OKU) visitors at Likas Stadium to be looked into seriously.

"We hope that the infrastructures and amenities for the OKUs will be improved as we see currently, the stadium's specifications are not OKU-friendly," Amoster said during a meetup session.

Amoster also hoped that a toilet will be provided for the disabled in the ground floor of Stadium Likas, especially for those who are using wheelchairs, as proposed by KPBOS in a meeting with the Sabah Football Association (Safa) earlier this year.

"I had raised the issue of OKU-friendly amenities at the sports complex in 2013 when I just returned home from South Korea, after representing the national Paralympic squad for the Presidential Cup International Lawn Bowling Games," said the lawn bowler who brought home a gold and a silver medal from that competition.

He added, the second time he raised the issue was when he was denied the privilege of parking his car at a OKU-designated parking lot at a sports facility, here, earlier this year.

Nonetheless, Amoster is delighted with the cooperation given by Safa to facilitate disabled fans to enter the stadium for free to watch the Sabah Rhinos in action.

"This should be continued and it sets a good example for other football associations in the country as Safa did not ignore the OKU fans by allocating a special space for us," Amoster said.
