Beluran: The District Health Office with the agreement of the Beluran Cholera Outbreak Committee has prohibited the sale of iced drinks by restaurants, eateries, hawker stalls and the weekly tamu in the town area.The directive was effective Monday until the outbreak in the district ends. Hence, iced coffee, iced Milo, iced the Tarik, iced Cola, iced or blended fruit juices which are prepared on the spot or at home are not allowed to be sold in those places temporarily.This action followed the result of investigation and monitoring of food samples from the town which found the risk of cholera infection from the sale of iced beverages. However, packet, tinned and bottled drinks from the factory that are refrigerated are allowed to be sold.
