K'batangan shootings: 7 sought

Kota Kinabatangan: Police are seeking the help of seven foreigners who they believe could shed some light into the two shooting incidents in Sukau, near here, recently.Those with information on their whereabouts are urged to contact the police station here at 089-561867 or Sandakan at 089-212222 or the Eastern Sabah Security Command at 089-863181 or ASP Majari Awal Jari at 0138013536 or Insp. Syam Sari Hamat at 019-586-4733.

On April 13, at about 6pm, Tung Sang Plantation Manager, Yuen Wing Wah, 65, was killed and his employer Danny Wong Chik Hong, 34, seriously injured by two gunmen who fled with the payroll.

Four days later, a 50-year-old sundry shop operator, Mohd Tahir Mamong, was shot by a hitch hiker turned robber while on the way back to the estate at about 1.45pm. Five other accomplices were also present during the robbery.

The shot went wide but the victim was given several stitches for the burn scar in the chest caused by the gunshots.

Mohd Tahir lost two mobile phones and several important documents.

State Criminal Investigation Department Chief SAC Datuk Salehhudin Abd Rahman said all information received will be treated with strict confidentiality.
