Mun Yee, Jun Hoong claim diving silver

Kuala Lumpur: National women's diving pair, Leong Mun Yee and Cheong Jun Hoong Friday grabbed the silver medal at the fourth series of the FINA Diving World Series 2015 held at London Aquatics Centre, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London, on Friday.According to the FINA's official website www.fina.org, the Malaysian pair won the medal after amassing 314.94 points in the women's synchronised 10m platform event on the first day of the meet.

The Chinese pair of Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia won the gold medal after accumulating 332.88 points while homesters Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow settled for the bronze with 311.88 points.

The Malaysian pair bettered their performance from the last series in Kazan, Russia last week when they managed to finish in fifth place with only 281.28 points.

In the earlier series this year, the duo claimed a silver medal in Beijing, China (March 13-15) and a broze in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (March 19-21).

Later at 7 pm local time (2 am Malaysian time), Nur Dhabitah and Ng Yan Yee will compete in the women's synchronised 3m springboard event. – Bernama
