Selangor: Players chosen for the Sudirman Cup must give their full commitment to make up for the early exit two years ago said Malaysian skipper Datuk Lee Chong Wei.Chong Wei, back from an eight-month suspension by the Badminton World Federation for a doping offence, leads the Malaysian team to the Sudirman Cup held in Dongguan, China from May 10 to 17.As the captain of the team, Chong Wei said he would try his best to win the first point and hoped that would provide the rest the inspiration to collect the remaining points.ADVERTISEMENT "We have discussed all possibilities. Since the Sudirman Cup is a mixed team competition, the others must not be disheartened even if I lost. I have confidence in the team and once again pull off the amazing feat when we competed in the Thomas Cup."I hope the players in the team will give their all to ensure victory," he told reporters at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport before boarding the flight to Dongguan, China, Wednesday morning.Malaysia who lost to Taiwan 2-3 and Germany 2-3 in the 2013 edition which was held in Kuala Lumpur, have been drawn in Group 1D with South Korea and India."This is a new team and have a chance to make the quarterfinals. The former world number one is expected to face Son Wan Ho, ranked fifth in the world, when Malaysia face South Korea in their opening match.Chong Wei will be joined by Cheam June Wei in the men's singles; Tee Jing Yi and Lim Yin Fun (women's singles), Tan Wee Kiong/Goh V Shem (Mak Hee Chun) for the men's doubles; and Vivian Hoo, Woon Khe Wei (Amelia Anscelly) in the women's doubles. – Bernama
