450 entries so far for KK's Night Fun Run and Ride

Kota Kinabalu: Local runners and cycling enthusiasts will look forward to the KK's Night Fun Run and Ride activity during the State Youth Day happening on May 15 until 17 at Tanjung Lipat according to the organiser.The activity Chief Coordinator, Steve Johnny Mositun said the event, which is organised by the Sabah Youth Council received promising reaction and that more local enthusiasts are expected to register."So far we have about 450 entries for this one-of-a-kind event where most of them are runners and cycling enthusiasts in and around the city," he said.ADVERTISEMENT The festival aims to gather youths of all ages from all corners of the city and surrounding districts while Steve invited all the youths to come join the fun.He informed that an additional five kilometres have been added to the previous 10km route for cycling, while the running distance is maintained."After receiving some comments from local enthusiasts we decided to extend the cycling distance to 15km from 10km previously.He reminded all participants of the KK's Night Fun Run and Ride to equip themselves with appropriate and necessary gear for safety purposes.ADVERTISEMENT Aside from the evening attractions will be a MTB (mountain bike) '4 Cross Challenge' scheduled to start at 3.00pm on May 16."This will be something more for the advanced riders who will navigate a beach course which comprises some bumps and jump sections and surely provide some thrills to the avid cyclists," he said.

He thanked the Sabah Youth Council for allowing him to contribute to their good cause and hoped their event would attract youths by the thousands to the many attractions laid in store.Among other events happening at the Sabah Youth Festival is a Kompang Selawat competition, Busking competition, Auto Show, Sabah Got Talent contest, Strongman Challenge, 3-On-3 Beach Soccer tournament, Beach Volleyball competition and a colouring contest as well as live entertainment from local performing artists.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
