Mission lauds RM70,000 govt aid to build church

Kota Belud: The Seventh Day Adventist Mission here has described the special aid of RM70,000 to build a new SDA church in Kampung Rosok as an act of understanding by the State government in helping the people to worship according to their religious belief.Sabah SDA President, Konis Gabu, expressed their gratitude to the government for helping them out in terms of construction, infrastructure and maintenance of the churches.

He said the provision given was used to start the construction of the Rosok SDA church, which will accommodate 350 to 500 people at a time.

In this regard, he also appreciated fellow SDA church leaders under the leadership of Rosok District Chief, Pastor Charldi Lauren for their efforts to unite the village's Christian community.

"All we get is not the result of our strength, but it is a gift from God, therefore we must be grateful and pray that our government continues to maintain the country's peace and harmony," he said at the ground-breaking of the new church site on Tuesday.

Also present were Rosok SDA District Chief, Pastor Charldi Lauren, Gaur SDA District Chief, Pastor Nium Gabu, SDA Administration Elder, Limasan Dongkiris, SDA Development Elder, Ramlan Anggor and SDA Secretary, Sigam Anggor.

According to Administration Elder, Limasan, in 2013 Rosok SDA had received an allocation of RM20,000 from Tempasuk Assemblyman and Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Datuk Musbah Jamli to build an open hall.

Whereas in 2012, Housing, Local Government and Urban Well-being Minister, Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan had provided an allocation of RM42,000 for church maintenance, camps, chairs and fencing.
