Don’t blame govt over foreign workers: Tangau

TENOM: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau said the people should not blame the State Government over the intake of foreign workers in the oil palm plantation industry.
Tangau said the employment of workers in the industry is not exclusive to foreign workers but also open to locals.

“The industry needs labour, foreigners or not, but when the government took the initiatives to assist the industry, there were various accusations.
“We need to have an understanding between the government and the people as well as the industry unlike last year when we had to take countless steps to solve this very issue,” he said.
