KPD urged to cultivate crops  in highlands of Rundum
Tenom: Kemabong Assemblyman Jamawi Jaafar hoped the Cooperative Development Cooperative (KPD) will be able to advance jointly the agricultural sector at the highlands of Rundum.

He said the area was suitable for cultivation of highland crops especially with  the cool weather like cabbage, asparagus, tomatoes, Shiitake mushroom and honey bee breeding.

“I hope KPD will conduct a crop-feasibility study in this area and joint venture with other parties, including residents in the area,” he said after receiving a courtesy call from Sabah KPD’s General Manager Kalimin Sahadi and senior KPD officials. According to Jamawi, KPD which has expertise in agriculture can certainly help advance the agricultural sector (in the area) and if it is implemented it will help the government improve the state’s economy and raise the economy of the local community.

In addition, Jamawi expressed his hope that KPD could develop the land belonging to KPD that lay abandoned in Kemabong Town.
