Retirees urged to join the ex-policemen association
KENINGAU: Police retirees are advised to join the Malaysian Ex-Police Association so that the relevant parties are aware of their well-being, said Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Adzhar Eddy Jasni.

He said the association can unite retired policemen, fight for them and help in their welfare especially those in the interior areas. This is because the former service people have served their country, government and community well.

“The services and sacrifices of these police retirees should not be forgotten because they have fought to ensure we live in peace and harmony,” he said.

“Police retirees have also sacrificed time and energy and risked their lives to fight crime for the well-being, harmony and security of the people in the country.”

He was speaking at the opening ceremony of an AGM of the association’s Keningau branch for the 2019-2021 session here, Saturday.

 Meanwhile, the association’s Sabah Chairman Awang Kassim Awang Gemuk advised all branch leaders to be active on the ground to seek and identify pensioners who need help and know their health status the responsible authorities’ attention.

A handover of aids such as wheelchairs, beds and walking sticks to police retirees and Keningau branch members was carried out during the event.

At the event, Adzhar was appointed Patron for the branch while Keningau Police Chief DSP Shahrudin Mat Husain was appointed as its Advisor.

Also present were Assistant Director of the Welfare Department in the Upper Interior Bil Suhud Mohamad and District Police Crime Prevention and Community Safety Head ASP Danny Jusing Abdullah.
