City Hall issued notices to all the tenants and unit owners in Delta Industrial Centre at Jalan Lintas Kolombong to clear out rubbish and tidy their compounds.
“It is important to keep the sidewalk and other communal areas there clean so that it will be conducive not only to themselves but also to visitors,” said a spokesman for the agency’s Cleanliness and Enviromental Health Department.

He said cleanliness and tidiness are some of the City Hall’s top concerns as it is a way of leading a healthy life.
“We will not hesitate to issue compounds on the spot to litterbugs. Everyone, and not City Hall cleaners alone, has a role to play in keeping their area clean,” he said.
He said they were instructed to throw their rubbish into the communal bins which had been provided in that industrial centre.
“A compound not exceeding RM500 per day will be slapped on those caught dirtying the common areas there as spot checks will be conducted from time to time,” he said, adding that the offense is stipulated under the Amendment 2055 of the Anti-Litter By-Law.

He also said they were informed not to treat the drains as their regular dumpsite as it would cause flash floods in that area.
“They need to kick this bad habit because it will give rise to mosquitoes in their surrounding due to the stagnant water in the drains,” he added.

He also called on unit owners, as well as the tenants, to ensure that the stairwells and back lanes are cleaned so as to deter rodents.
