Crash: Four Chinese tourists hurt
KOTA BELUD: A Chinese tourist was seriously injured while three others sustained minor injuries when a tour bus carrying them and 12 others skidded off Jalan Kota Belud-Kota Marudu, near Kampung Kesapang, Friday (pic).They were on the way to Kampung Rampayan from Kota Kinabalu when the accident occurred at 9.30am. Fang Rong, 37, suffered a fractured rib and hurt his backbone. The 36-year-old bus driver, tourist guide and 10 other tourists escaped unhurt. District Police Chief, Supt Mohd Zaidi Abdullah, said initial investigation showed the bus driver lost control and skidded off the road and landed in a ditch before the bus overturned. The case is being investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, he said. – R Gonzales
