Jing Hong and Aidah capture singles titles

KOTA KINABALU: Beh Jing Hong and Aidah Wong captured the men’s and women’s open singles titles at the Kota Kinabalu Table Tennis Championship held at Borneo Sports Arena, in Kolombong last weekend.
Both players had to work hard for their respective victory in the finals with Beh overcoming Alan Au 3-2 while Aidah also registered the same 3-2 win over Elise Lim.

Joint third place in the men’s event were Tiong Jia Min and Aaric Wong, with Carnie Fo and Connie Leong finished joint third in the women category.
The Perpaduan title went to Jordan Annesley Fernandez who beat Jackereddu Simpong 3-0 in the final and in joint third were Chong Su Phin and Soulis Palipus.
In the junior categories, Joshua Chin took the boys Under-18 title with a 3-0 victory over Joshua Ng Wei Bo in the final while the girls title went to Kew Zi Qin after her 3-1 win over Beh Hui Qin.

Esly also took the boys Under-13 title after his 3-2 victory over Alfred Ang Zhi Chao while the girls title won by Kew Zi Harn with a 3-2 win over Natalie Hiew. Meanwhile, the veteran title went to Daniel Chong after beating Dr Kew Seih Teck 3-1 in the final. – GL Oh
