FIM: rm452m potential franchise deals

Kuala Lumpur: The Franchise International Malaysia 2019 (FIM 2019) exhibition and conference which ended recently recorded RM452 million worth of potential franchise transaction – a nine per cent increase from the RM410 million recorded during last year’s event.

The Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) Chairman Datuk Radzali Hassan said the achievement was due to the franchise packages offered by 74 local and international franchise companies.

“FIM 2019 recorded more than 150 business matching sessions between franchisors and prospective franchisees.

“The Franchise In-Buying Mission (FBIM) also contributed to the total value of potential franchise transactions.

“This year, the FBIM involved 18 representatives of international investors from 13 countries, including United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Myanmar, Oman, Indonesia, India, Russia and Vietnam,” he said in a statement on Friday.

International franchise companies from 14 countries, namely the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, Turkey, Indonesia, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand also took part in the event.

The event was attended by more than 11,000 local and international visitors.

FIM 2019 also saw the exchange of franchise agreements between Mediconstant Holding Sdn Bhd, City Coin Laundry Sdn Bhd and Revenue Valley Sdn Bhd with master franchisors from Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Turkey, Brunei, Maldives and Jordan. – Bernama
