Pregnant woman hurt in KB mishap

KOTA BELUD: A 31-year-old pregnant woman suffered a broken hand after a Toyota Vios crashed into a drain along Jalan Kota Belud-Kota Marudu, near Kampung Keguraan, here, Tuesday.
Tiong Chia Ling was rushed to Kota Belud Hospital after the 10.25am incident while the female driver, Tiong Ha Lee, 40, escaped unscathed.

District Fire and Rescue Department Chief Rozalan Osman said a team of eight firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving the distressed call and was aided by four Relief Fire And Rescue Officers
Upon arriving at the scene, he said the team immediately carried out operation to extract the women out of the vehicle before sending them to the hospital for further treatment.

“Both victims were conscious but the passenger (pregnant woman) broke her arm and was traumatised,” he told Daily Express.
Rozlan said it was believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle before crashing into the two-metre deep drain.
