The marathon winding up session by the various ministries that lasted into the night on Thursday forced Deputy Speaker Datuk Ahmad Abd Rahman to remark that prayers should not be used as a reason to quicken things up.
This happened when Apas State Assemblyman Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan requested to pose a supplementary question to State Infrastructure Development Minister Datuk Peter Anthony after the latter had finished his winding up.

It appeared that a few assemblymen also wanted to pose their questions at the same time but Nizam requested to be first, saying he needed to do so as he wanted to perform his “solat” prayers.
Ahmad allowed him to pose his question but not without saying that wanting to attend prayers must not be used to get his way.
He reminded Nizam that some of the Christian assemblymen in the House could also made the same request since they needed to go to church (Holy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with His Apostles before His crucifixion). But none of them did.
