Punching, kicking seventh wife: Man arrested in LD

LAHAD DATU: A 36-year-old was detained for punching kicking and hitting his seventh wife with a metal rod at an unnumbered house in Kampung Tabanak on April 14, this year.District Police Chief ACP Nasri Mansor said the suspect and his 26-year-old wife had an argument after she went out of the house without permission as she could not stand his abusive husband’s behaviour.ADVERTISEMENT
Following the argument, the husband became furious and punched the victim’s head, kicked her in the face and hit her with a metal rod. The suspect later threw a workout equipment at her.
She suffered injuries on her mouth, back and leg.
The suspect went on a rage again later uttering harsh words towards the victim and her stepchildren which caused fear and prompted her to lodge a police report.
“Further investigation found that the couple got married on Feb 25, this year. It was the second marriage for the victim and the victim was the suspect’s seventh wife,” he said.ADVERTISEMENT
According to Nasri, the unemployed suspect was detained at 10.45pm on Wednesday following the police report. Police seized a metal rod and the workout equipment used in the incident.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Nasri said further investigation was ongoing under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
