RANAU: The Easter celebration must become a turning point for everyone to live in a more harmonious environment in a multi-cultural and multi-religious society.
St Peter Claver Ranau (SPCR) parish priest, Rev Fr Nicholas Stephen, said on Easter, Christians celebrate the triumphant victory of the Lord Jesus Christ against all that is evil in the world, and this must be something to be emulated by all.

About 200 people from across the district were baptised during the Easter Vigil celebration on Saturday evening.
“This is the culmination of the Gospel, it is the Good News of Jesus, who was crucified, rose (from the dead)! This is the basis of our faith and hope. If Christ is not raised, Christianity will lose its basic meaning,” Fr Nicholas said.
“The words conveyed by Pope Francis on Easter 2014 is still relevant in our life situations that often deal with revenge and hatred. In Jesus, love has won over hatred, grace for sin, good for evil, righteousness for falsehood, life over death.
“Should this, then, not be our outlook in life? So let this Easter become for us a point of renewing our faith and hope for a better tomorrow. This is all true because Christ is risen and made all things new,” he said.
