LABUAN: Two notable developments here – the Medan Selera food court and the refurbished Taman Victoria – were officially opened by Federal Territories Minster Khalid Abdul Samad on Saturday.
The RM13 million food court completed in January this year is equipped with 50 stalls, 250 parking lots and 50 lots for motorcycles, a surau, toilets and a children's playground.

The project began construction in February 2017 on 3,034 hectares at Jalan Tanjung Purun.
A multipurpose stage is also available at the centre of the food court for various community and official events.
Khalid, in his speech, said the completion of the food court added another impressive landmark to Labuan due to its unique architecture.
Also present was Labuan Member of Parliament Datuk Rozman Isli.

The newly refurbished Taman Victoria which houses an “under-the-sea” themed park, fondly known to locals as Taman Merpati, was previously a walkway flooded with dozens of pigeons at most times of the day.
The upgrade is said to be one of Labuan Corporation's missions to improve the quality of infrastructure here and transform municipal services to become more efficient and user-friendly.
